I never move my Peristeen kit, it's gone. I needed to go a few days ago and I'm full, dysreflexic. I tried an M.E yesterday and it was a poor effort so trying to get a district nurse. I feel ill

Tuesday 15 December 2009

I had one hell of a weekend. Before I even left the apartment I had a bad feeling and I just knew. I knew my ex would show. I had a word with myself on the way to Barry and went to the house party nonetheless and told a few people how I felt. I decided not to drink or anything and glad I didn't cos my feeling was right.

In my opinion if I was there 1st they shouldn't even have let him in so that said it all to be honest. I clearly said I wanted to leave, it's not like I can just walk off, and some silly cow queried why we couldn't be friends. She has no idea the hell he put me through before and after my accident. After a few minutes one lad there who I barely knew booked him a taxi and made him leave.

Thursday 10 December 2009

My housemate worked away again this week and last night I spilled a milkshake in my car so today had to fill a bowl with warm water, balance it on my lap with a sponge and cleaning spray plus towel and get it to the car, wheelie-ing over the door lip on the way out, without spilling a drop! I spilled the drink behind the passenger seat so had to lean forward to get the seat forward and scrub the floor. I did it, it took a while but I succeeded! While I was there I thought |I may as well give my seat a clean as I had an accident before and I put the towel on the seat. After putting the bowl and stuff back I transferred onto the towel, brought the wheelchair in and went for a sunbed. I always need help getting in the sunbed door as there is a high step, I couldn't get myself in. The rest is easy!

When I got home my housemate was back and I got excited, after all the trouble we've had the last week I thought 'yay we can make it up' but he had other plans. Shows how much he cares for out friendship hey! |He asked to move my car, turns out that snobby bitch he's been seeing behind her parents back has booked a hotel and champagne etc. A cheap hotel and cheap champagne, classy. I told him I was upset over his priorities but I want him to have fun so I dug out some proper fetish handcuffs, a ball gag (for the mouth) and bondage tape for him to take. I've used that ball gag on all my customers so had a giggle to myself. I told him he couldn't go as he was as he looked like a tramp so made him shave, shower and wear something nice. She's confessed to her parents about him and they can't do much as she's moving to London over Christmas.

That's all I'm willing to confess today haha xx

Tuesday 1 December 2009

I've been quiet for a while because I just couldn't be bothered to explain what's been going on for the last few days, plus I haven't had time! I didn't make plans to go out Friday and my friend was supposed to have work. Note the supposed... She cancelled and we went back to mine so I could sort out my toilet needs and then we went back to hers. She only wanted me back at hers so her boyfriend could come up but it wasn't a chore, she wasn't all over him and he is very friendly, we got along fine. As her bathroom is upstairs I brought catheters with bags so I could just go in her living room. I stayed over - her boyfriend had a helpful friend who was strong and carried me where I needed to go - and left in the morning. The wheelchair was in the boot and I forgot to remind the friend to put it in the front so had to stop a pedestrian on the way home to do it for me.

As I didn't sleep much Friday and didn't get home til 10am I went straight to bed despite some other friends asking me to go and see them. I slept on and off for a full 24 hours before I got up, had a shower and made my way to Barry to see my other friends. There was also a strong friend there who took me to the toilet when needed and when the lady of the house arrived with her 3 young children they thought I was being carried to bed for some fun and they explained I couldn't walk to which they replied 'she looks fine!'. Kids eh? They went to bed shortly so we stayed up late and my housemate came over at about 10pm to catch up as he hadn't seen them for a while.

Today we went for a carvery and to Asda. I knew I'd need the toilet soon as I hadn't done my bowel care since Friday and I told my housemate but he was faffing about in the aisles til I had to force him to get to a till and get out. Too late, I could smell it when I transferred and checked the seat. Thankfully there was a towel in the car so he put it under me and we drove home. Luckily it wasn't a big mess and I did my Peristeen as soon as I got in and had a good wash!

Tuesday 3 November 2009

I couldn't get an appointment in my regular sunbed place today because I had an appointment with my orthodontist to fit a brace to my lower teeth. They've always bothered me but I couldn't afford them or I didn't have time. Well now I have all the time in the world so I went for it and when I arrived home I called my housemate and we went to a Consol sunbed in a nearby town.

The Consol sunbeds are bigger but higher than my usual ones and the floor is high shine. The wheelchair moved as I lifted and pushed myself into the sunbed and I nearly slipped off. It was worse getting off as there was a stupid plastic chair in the way and I couldn't angle the wheelchair. If I don't angle it slightly towards me my leg always slips between what I'm getting off and the nearest metal bar of the chair. Once my leg is down there I can't recover unless I get back up, and it was too high and too slanted, all I could do was hold myself in that awkward position and tell my housemate I needed help so he lifted me into my seat. My ankles ended up crossed and I wasn't at a good angle so I had him sort my legs out for me as I was rapidly slipping into a very foul mood!

After getting back in the car we went for a carvery, yum!

Monday 2 November 2009

I went to a new club last night. My sister let me down (again) so my friend said if I pick her and her friend up they'd pay for me to get in so I curled my hair, did my make up and transferred onto my bed where I pulled on a black fishnet top, black & teal tutu and black thigh high boots. I adjusted the strap above my footrest so I could rest my heels on that because the shoes touch the floor otherwise and got myself into the car and my housemate put the chair in the boot of the car.

When I picked my friend up we made our way to the club and found a space outside a petrol station. They sorted my chair out and I took some catheters, my phone and some cash and put it in a little Velcro compartment under my seat with the car keys and my friend pushed me to the club.

Outside the club the doormen came over and explained that the lift is broke and the toilets are on the middle floor, we were going to be on the bottom floor. The doormen lifted my wheelchair with me in and took me downstairs. When I needed to be carried later I expressed that I prefer to be carried and someone carry the chair so they did that and didn't mind one bit hehe!

A couple of people tried to approach me, I don't like talking to strangers and I really don't want to be accidently patronised or quizzed on my situation so I avoided eye contact and when anyone bothered me I looked the other way and even moved my chair several times. One lad asked me if he could ask me a question and I simply said no. The thing is I'm out to have fun not go into a diatribe about my wheelchair then listen to how 'brave' I am.

At the end of the night I got carried upstairs and it was raining. It's hard to wheel in the rain as my rims get wet so there's no grip. My friend pushed me back and placed me in the car and we went back to their house where I got carried in and placed on the sofa. I don't think I've ever been in the wheelchair so long and my legs were like ice but they warmed up after a few hours. I did a catheter on the sofa into a leg bag and fell asleep. I stayed there til late tonight and could've stayed forever but I used all my catheters. It was nice to get home and wash my face lol!

Thursday 29 October 2009

I was rudely awakened by a small child kicking his football repetitively against the outside wall at 9am so I did a catheter and went back to sleep briefly and then the house phone rang. Twice. I eventually got out of bed and had a wash. There is an Asda basket in the bath because I couldn't carry my shopping without dropping it last night so decided to keep the basket so I could get my stuff in my apartment safely. I transferred back into bed and carefully pulled on a pair of jeans with holes cut in them. It's not easy but I did it. I then got a top on, fixed my hair and got into the car and drove to my last hometown.

When I arrived I pulled up outside the sunbed shop I used to use, it was a bit upsetting to be honest as I remember walking to the local shops and just walking in general and it really hit me how much I miss walking. I opened the sunbed door and asked for the owner but she doesn't work there anymore. I went in anyway to see if I could get on the sunbed and I could so I bought a package and had 6 minutes on it! It wasn't easy getting dressed into the ripped jeans in such a confined space but I did it and felt better for having a sunbed. I then went to my old nail bar and had my nails done. First time since the accident for both. Is it good timing that in the sunbed place I only had 2 minutes left in my old package when I had my accident?

I'm being extra careful now not to break my nails as I use my hands a lot more than I used to. I was careful with my bum on the sunbed too, don't want to burn that!

Monday 26 October 2009

Lately the lads from the apartments upstairs have been coming and knocking for me like I'm a teenager, well most of them are, and carrying me upstairs to join them. I've been up a few times now - it's nice! My housemate came home Saturday with his friend and carried me to the top flat and was very wobbly which scared me though. Apparently he jammed or hit my foot in a door too which I didn't notice and it doesn't look injured, just a small bruise. I think people forget I can't pick my own legs up or move them sometimes!

My housemate came home with a giant pumpkin to carve for Halloween which I'm excited about!

Saturday 17 October 2009

I saw a clinical trial advertised on the Internet for complete injuries where they implied they would try to bring back function through electrical stimulation and exercise. I needed to know whether my muscles would respond to electrical stimulation to be considered so I went to the hospital yesterday ti try it out.

It worked on my arm and my hand raised against my will, it felt really weird like pins and needles or a bad trapped nerve. The doctor attached it to my thigh and turned it on, nothing happened even when he turned it up. He tried it on my lower leg too saying my foot would raise if it worked but it didn't. The physio had a downloadable brochure from the trial that she printed off for me and it isn't a trial for function at all, it's a trial to see about preventing obesity in spinal patients so I'm not really missing out! It would have been 18 weeks in America but only 1 hour a day for 5 days a week with $1000 compensation plus $10 a day for travel and they pay board and lodge (they'd only give lunch vouchers for the days of the trial though).

I called the TV show about my previous post and sent pictures of me and they replied with some questions which I answered so now I have to wait and see.

Tuesday 13 October 2009

I am in love with Egyptian cotton! When I woke up yesterday morning my housemate came in and gave me a back rub as I was aching. Where he was sat on me and I was lying on my belly I somehow wet myself even though I wasn't due to go so we took the sheet off, cleaned the mattress and I went and had a shower and washed my hair. He's home all week and I wanted some new bedding so we went to the local supermarket and picked up a food shop and some bedding. When I made the bed I didn't like the feel of the bedding so today we went to a town nearby and I got some Egyptian cotton bed sheets. I can't wait to put them on!

Saturday 10 October 2009

I had no plans yesterday when my friend text me saying she was coming home from work early and invited me over. She asked me to pick up some thing in the shop for someone she knows and I made my way over. We got to the house for this someone and I gave him what he asked for and he only gave me half the money, said 'I have to owe you £25' and walked off. I was fuming, I asked my friend to sort it out and she just said 'I don't know him that well' and there was a big fuss and the man just left with 2 other boys. What a complete prize prick. If I saw him on the way to my friend's house I would've ran him over.

Anyway when we arrived my friend was getting my chair out when one of her neighbours was leaving his mother's and asked if we needed help. He carried me in like a princess and my friend brought my chair. After a while the girl who owned the house where I got ripped off called as they had trashed her house and the police were there. I did a quick catheter and got into my chair from the sofa and my friend helped me out of her house and to the car. We picked the other girl up with her friend and returned to my friend's house.

When I decided to go home my friend came with me and we encouraged some of the lads from the apartment upstairs to join us. After they left I had a lie down and then I took my friend home!

Sunday 4 October 2009

On Saturday some of my housemate's friends were supposed to go out with him but they didn't answer their phones so I took him where he needed to go. He was very restless through the evening and called a few friends and decided he wanted to visit one in Newport. I got myself together and we drove up. There were a few odd steps into his friend's house so he and his friend carried me in the chair into the living room where there were 3 other people and 2 dogs. One started barking and came up to me and I really hate dogs, I panicked straight away and a girl on the sofa said 'it's OK they're friendly' to which I relied 'I don't care, I have a phobia' which is far easier than saying I don't like dogs which always leads to questions and stupid comments.

After a while I had my eye on a comfy chair and transferred in and one of the boys sat in my chair. They all had a drink and after a while I had to get my housemate to carry me to the bathroom. It was a little too late so I asked the house owner if I could borrow a pair of bottoms and we changed my jeans on the sofa where I stayed til we left at about 10am Sunday morning.

The sun was out in force, I was really tired so my housemate drove back and we went to bed as soon as we got back.

Thursday 1 October 2009

So I'm in Blackpool! I don't know if it's just because I don't really sit in my chair that often or the excessive wheeling but my entire back is killing me even below my level of injury where I can't feel it. It's my seat I'm sure. I told her I wanted it very upright as I've always sat with perfect posture and the way it is now it's 90 degrees but it causes me to slouch backwards. I've already put sponges down the back of the seat between the fabric. Considering putting something more solid there!

There are wheelers everywhere here, no young ones though!

Tuesday 29 September 2009

For those who may be interested most paraplegics and quadriplegics cannot control their bladder or bowel and have to take measures to empty both at regular intervals. I think the all encompassing phrase 'I can not move or feel anything below the waist' explains this but some people don't quite grasp that and I've had a few questions here and there on various corners of the Internet.

Anyway, on Saturday I was feeling weak after such a late night Friday so didn't really feel like going anywhere but when I got into bed a friend called and persuaded me to go up hers. When I arrived her friend carried me like a princess onto the sofa and we caught up on all the gossip til I wanted to go home.

Sunday was spent in bed til my housemate wanted to be picked up from his weekend partying and he cooked us spag bol. He went to Tenby Monday morning to help his father at work and is coming back tonight as we are viewing an apartment tomorrow in a better location and then making the journey to Blackpool!

Saturday 26 September 2009

Yesterday was one hell of a random adventure! I had an appointment for my Botox at half 5 so I went to the toilet before I left and took my housemate to my appointment so he could assist me. There was nowhere to park right outside so I parked in a drive-in dry cleaners and my housemate assembled my chair and lifted me out of the car safely into it. I wheeled to the bumpy bit of road outside the clinic and he pushed me the carefully over the rough bits into the clinic where I had my Botox.

On the way home he called one of his friends who said a few of them were going clubbing and wanted him to come. I knew I wouldn't be able to go as I'd have to completely depend on my housemate and it isn't fair to affect his weekends all the time. He asked would I give him a lift up and I agreed. We had to come home first so he could shower and get dressed and then I dropped him off. I left my phone on charge in the apartment and after I'd driven a few minutes towards home I realised he'd left my wheelchair in the boot! There would be no point going back as all I would be able to do is beep outside and they may not even notice so I carried on and drove into my local supermarket and commandeered a trolley pusher to put my chair in the passenger seat.

When I got in I settled on the sofa emailing a friend and he invited me up so I did my bowel care and a catheter then drove up. I picked him up as his flat is upstairs and he looks way too weedy to carry me and we parked by some playing fields. We were chatting for some time when he just pounced on me! I didn't know what to do so I just kissed him back and tried to make a joke of it. Thankfully someone text as they needed to pick something up off me so I took him back and drove home. On the way I saw a drunk man sat on the kerb with his thumb out and being the person I am I felt sorry for him and picked him up. He confessed that he'd just caught his Mrs in bed with another man, he was devastated, I dropped him in his home town and got myself back home.

My friend arrived to pick up his stuff and I went outside to give it to him and chatted to him and his friends. The flat above saw and called for me to stay there but I went into my flat anyway and one of the boys came down and asked if I fancied a party. He tried to carry me but he was a weakling and got a friend to carry me all the way to the 3rd floor where I was placed delicately on the sofa. He also carried me to the toilet and back down to my apartment several hours later!

Wednesday 23 September 2009

I took myself to the local supermarket last night, I was hungry and knew I'd need food for today so I put a little bit of make-up on just in case, put my lush leather gloves on and got myself into the car. When I arrived I parked in the disabled bay (for a change lol) and noticed they give parking tickets out and I don't have a disabled badge but I didn't worry, if I got a ticket it's obvious I'm disabled. I went straight to the clothes and saw some lovely cropped cardigans hanging out of my reach so I had to ask for assistance to get one down in my size and I placed it in my lap.

As I went around the store picking things up I decided I should get a basket so I wheeled to the front of the store to get one and continued my journey. When I was done I asked an assistant to help me take everything to the car and put my chair in the passenger seat.

When I got home I got the bags out of the car and it was really difficult trying to get them in as they were all quite full. I dropped one and had to struggle to pick it back up and I was stuck in the hallway unable to do 2 things at once so I put 2 bags down and opened the doors, picked them back up and wheeled to the kitchen where I gratefully put the bags on the counter. I put everything away but cut myself a slice of Tiramisu cheesecake and put a dollop of Creme Fraiche with it.

At about 2am I decided to go to bed but I couldn't sleep! After a few hours I did a catheter so if I did drop off I wouldn't have to wake up again to do one. I really wanted to stay in bed when I woke at 2pm but decided if I get up it'll be easier to sleep tonight!

Sunday 20 September 2009

My grandparents went away for 2 weeks and came back yesterday as I called to see if I could visit them for a bit. I decided to wear a tight purple vest with my skinny jeans and a beautiful pair of purple suede high heels. I was forcing my finger in to get my toes straight and broke a nail! I've never had long nails, I always used to bite them and had acrylic nails for a long time til I went into hospital where I cut them off and they grew off so I'm really chuffed my nails have grown and seem strong enough! I put my hair in plaits and put a purple hair band in to hold my fringe off my face and did the whole car thing and went to their home.

When I arrived my grandad came and got my chair out for me and assembled it. He also pushed me up the slight incline which I was grateful for and in the living room he moved the furniture so I could get in. After a few hours catching up I knew I'd need the bathroom and theirs is too cluttered for me to get in so I went home, grandad put my chair in the car for me. I spent the rest of the day on the sofa, only getting up to do my bowel care, catheter and eat.

I didn't get out of bed til 4pm today, I never sleep well. After having my wash and getting dressed I had a bowl of cereal and transferred onto the sofa to check all my internet places. I called my housemate to see when he'd be back from Tenby as I was hungry but he said not for a few hours yet so I ordered butter chicken and saag bhaji which I enjoyed!

Wednesday 16 September 2009

One of my friends got sent home from work last night as there was nothing there to do and she invited me over. I can't get in hers without help but luckily a guy she works with was going to be there so I went to the toilet before I left and text when I arrived. Her friend gave me a piggy back into the living room and placed me on the sofa.

After a few hours it was time for me to empty my bladder and I didn't know if he could get me to the bathroom so he left the room and my friend got a jug and we got me to the edge of the sofa, legs bent, trousers down, and I inserted the catheter. Not very ladylike but if a girl's gotta go a girl's gotta go!

I finally left and got into bed at about 7am! I felt really weak when I finally decided to get out of bed but I managed to sort myself out and have breakfast!

Wednesday 9 September 2009

I was rudely awakened by the buzzer to my apartment so I swung into my wheelchair, secured a towel under my arms to hide my naked body and wheeled to the window in my hall which looks out to where the main buzzer is. It was the post man, he had a parcel. I opened the window and he stupidly asked 'where you sleeping'. Well obviously, what else is an unemployed person going to be doing at half 8 in the morning? He's my usual post man too so he's been here about 20 times and knows full well no matter what time he comes I'm usually in bed! I put the box on my lap and wheeled back to the bedroom, put it on the floor and went back to bed.

When I finally decided to get out of bed I picked up 2 towels and wheeled into the bathroom. I lowered the bath chair slightly and lifted my legs into the bath before positioning my right hand on the furthest side of the bath and my left just next to me on the bath and swung onto the seat. I lowered it to the bottom and pulled myself forward so my legs crossed and bent. In this position I rarely lose balance as it's impossible to fall forward. I turned the hot and cold tap on and pressed the tap thing that turns it into a shower and waited for the temperature to regulate then soaked my hair and gave it a good wash and condition. I got back onto the bath chair so I could scrub my feet and legs while I waited for the conditioner to work its magic then thoroughly rinsed myself. I placed a towel on my chair and the other in my hair, raised the bath seat and got back into my wheelchair, brushed my teeth and transferred onto my toilet chair to do a catheter.

Back in my bedroom I covered myself in moisturiser and pulled on my tracksuit bottoms and vest before grabbing the parcel I received earlier and taking it into the living room with me. I placed it on the sofa and got on the sofa myself to eagerly rip it open! Inside was a beautiful pair of blue glittery Louboutin shoes and a purple GHD gift set. I tried the shoes on - perfect!

Sunday 6 September 2009

The catheters arrived Friday morning, I've had a good look at them and figured them out. I want a flip-flow valve though otherwise it's continuous drain which would lead to bladder shrinkage. I'll call and see if I can get some!

As I was up so early I figured I should take advantage. I bribed my housemate to come to Cardiff with me shopping and took my wheelchair gloves. There are always a few wheelers about Cardiff and I saw a rather good looking man wheel past with his gloves on. I noticed the way he wheeled, it was way better than the way I wheel, like his arms and hands were going in circles. I had to get my housemate to push me occasionally as I was getting quite fatigued but I bought a beautiful pair of purple suede high heels. I tried on a couple of pairs of shoes - I always inch forward in my seat and pull my leg straight up so my foot is a few inches above my face. It just feels more secure that way!

On Friday night my housemate and I went over my friend's house. Last time we were there he carried me to the bathroom and put me on the toilet too far on the edge and I slid between the wall and the toilet completely folded in half taking the entire seat with me. I had him check me when we got home and thankfully I wasn't cut or bruised. He was more careful this time!

After a while I wanted to go home and we heard noise coming from one of the apartments above so he went up to see if we could come up. He left me there for a good 10-15 minutes before I called him and asked what he was playing at. They were all making a journey to the local supermarket so I said see you later and got comfy on the sofa. He came back within a few minutes and asked if I was ready to go up but I decided not to, there were people asleep up there and the ones who were awake were drunk and I can't stand drunk people. I went to bed at about 6am and he returned shortly after, pretty worse for wear! He didn't bother me though, I think he just passed out somewhere in the apartment!

Wednesday 2 September 2009

Someone from the doctors called me yesterday about my catheter query and told me to call the spinal rehab I was in to sort something out so I did and they were really unhelpful and just told me to call my catheter supplier and ask for one. Turned out I needed to know the exact catheter so I had to call them back and they were still useless. My supplier had to decide which one would be best and hopefully I'll have them tomorrow complete with prefilled syringe so I can put it in when need be. They said a district nurse would need to do it but I think I can do it myself!

Sunday 30 August 2009

Yesterday my housemate's friend and his girlfriend wanted to come over for a drinking session. My housemate wanted a drink and I enjoy driving so I drove to pick them up and brought them back to the apartment. On the way I wanted to pick up something to eat so we parked right at the top of the car park of the local superstore as there were no spaces anywhere else, the disabled spaces get taken by lazy people and anywhere closer to the store ends up with someone parking next to me leaving me in one hell of a difficult situation.

When we got to the front of the store my housemate's friend grabbed one of the wheelchairs they have in store and started wheeling about so I grabbed onto the handles for a free ride!

When we got back home they wanted to go to some event in a local town so off we went. The area wasn't the best for accessibility but we made it and got into one of the pubs. This old drunk guy spotted us and waved for us to sit at a table near him so we did and then he started trying to speak to us. He made no sense, he was so drunk and was blatantly trying to chat us up and offered to take me to the bathroom. I HATE being approached as it is and when someone harasses me I get pretty nasty so we got the doorman involved and we were saved.

After an hour or so the girlfriend wanted to leave so I persuaded the boys to leave and on the way home she wanted to actually go home. I dropped her off, and her boyfriend followed which was a shame as my housemate was drunk and wanted to party. I took him back home and we tried to find somewhere to go when he remembered a birthday party somewhere so off we went. When we arrived at our destination he remembered the party was Friday night! I text one of my friends just to say hi and she called so we went and picked her up and went to her house.

When we got there my housemate gave me a piggy back into her living room and placed me on the sofa. We stayed there for a while til my friend found a party and my housemate carried me to the toilet and back, only dropping my leg once in his drunken stupor. I had to be carried to the car and into the party when we got there.

One girl at the party took first impressions and thought I was just a diva til my friends explained I'm paralysed and I stayed on the sofa til I decided I wanted to go home and go to the toilet independently. I can't wait til I get a Foley catheter so I can pop it in and not worry!

Thursday 27 August 2009

I was just startled by the buzzer to my apartment going and quickly transferred into my wheelchair. I knew who it was and didn't want them to leave before I got to the door. My one foot had slid off the foot rest but I didn't have time to put it back on. It was the post man, with a parcel! I took it from him, signed for it and hurried back to my place on the sofa whilst excitedly texting my housemate. I rushed to open it and inside was a plain cardboard box with two red drawstring bags each containing a black patent Christian Louboutin shoe in my size. I got them on perfectly, no struggle, they were meant to be!

Saturday 22 August 2009

Yesterday I went to my doctors for my holiday injections! My right arm feels like it's been punched now from the polio/diphtheria/tetanus shot. It doesn't affect my transfers - it only hurts if I raise my arm or lie on it. I slept on it for a while last night and the pain came into my dream!

Last night my housemate came back at about 4am, steaming drunk, and had me singing to him for hours! I was so tired when I decided to get out of bed. I'm lazy in the mornings anyway - I won't go to the bathroom, I'll do a catheter into a bag instead and go back to sleep!

I'm expecting a couple of parcels any day soon, a wonderful friend across the sea has sent me some amazing shoes that I've always coveted and never bought. I really can not wait to open them when they arrive, pull my leg into the air and ease them onto my floppy little feet. I have a screw driver to help ease my toes through if my fingers won't fit!

Wednesday 19 August 2009

I had a lovely dream last night. Occasionally I have a dream where I am aware I am dreaming and can manipulate the surroundings and situations. I was at a house party listening to my favourite music with some people who were my friends (I didn't recognise their faces but people are often different in dreams). I suddenly realised I was dreaming and started having a dance to the music and walking about. I knew it wouldn't last long and it didn't but I woke up really happy knowing I'd had fun.

I got up and decided I wanted to wash my hair so I pulled up by the side of my bath (I have a bath chair that goes up and down) and manoeuvred the chair so the front castor were facing forward. I pressed the controls for the bath chair but the battery was flat so I put it on charge and had some breakfast while I waited. After about half an hour I got myself into the bath and used the shower head to wash my hair and body, scrubbing my lifeless legs and feet as well as my toned upper half.

When I was done I placed a towel on my chair hanging down so I could put my feet on it too and got in my chair and wheeled to the bedroom where I got into bed and moisturised myself. When I do my legs I find I get a better all over effect if I lie back and pull each leg into the air and rub my entire leg. Probably good for circulation too. I pay extra attention to my feet. I got dressed and shuffled back into my chair ready to face the day ahead.

Saturday 15 August 2009

I've been looking at holiday destinations the last few days. I had my eye on Beijing especially as it's all been renovated due to the Olympics making it more wheelchair accessible but my housemate mentioned Thailand so I booked the flights yesterday advising them I'm wheelchair dependent - unsure how it will work in the airport and on the plane, I think they send the chair and me separately! I won't be on my own anyway. I spent yesterday checking out hotels and booked a lovely one with a hot tub on the roof overlooking the city and we will book excursions when we get there as it's cheaper apparently!

Monday 10 August 2009

I've had a really busy week with way too much to be writing about but I'll try to summarise! Some lads I know were off on a stag party in Ibiza on Thursday and wanted some girls to strip on the bus so I arranged for my sister to go and they said I could do the lesbian spot too so I went for the journey to the airport and back. About 2 hours in I felt really queasy and felt my stomach and I was really bloated. Thankfully I brought catheters with bags as well as the little ones I use over the toilet so I lay down on the seats and my sister held my legs up and got the catheter in. I filled the bag up to a litre in volume! No wonder I felt ill!

My sister stayed over Thursday night and I took her back to her home town Friday with my housemate and he took me out for a belated birthday meal. On Saturday I went to Barry and picked up a friend to stay over that night. My housemate and his friend joined me on the journey and on the way there we decided to take advantage of the weather and bought 2 disposable BBQ's and some food. We all drove to Ogmore and my housemate carried me on his back down onto the beach and placed me on a rock with my wheelchair cushion underneath me. It was a lush BBQ and we headed back when the tide started to come in. Back at home my housemate carried me to the apartment above ours but I didn't enjoy it there so carried me back.

On Sunday it was sunny again but when it's hot it's too much being in the wheelchair as it's not comfortable to relax in - I wanted to go back inside so my housemate sorted a bean bag out and placed me on that, nice and comfy! I took my shirt off to get some more sun and have a bit of sunburn now!

Wednesday 5 August 2009

You won't believe the number of times I got in and out of the car today, I proved to myself I can still be independent even if it is a bit awkward!

I got up at about 1pm and called my folks to let them know I'd be up when I'm ready. I leaned over the bath and washed my hair before transferring onto my shower chair over the toilet and doing a catheter and having a wash. I put a folded towel on my seat and transferred back into my chair and wheeled back into my bedroom. I got on the bed, put some fake tan on and deodorant and reached over for the jeans and vest I laid out the night before. A couple of wiggles and my jeans were up and my vest on. I left the apartment and got into the car, bringing my chair behind me. I got it all out again when I arrived at my folks and sat with them for a while until I decided to return home.

When I got back I had to do the whole wheelchair thing again and I was hungry so I thought about it and decided to go to Toby carvery on my own so that was another wheelchair in and out job. I love it when people give me evil looks when I pull into a disabled bay because they don't know where to look once they've figured out the contraption I'm assembling is a wheelchair! After Toby I decided to pop into Asda so did it all again with the chair then came home feeling quite satisfied with myself!

Tomorrow I'm meeting some friends for a coach trip to Birmingham airport - they're off to Ibiza for a stag week and when they leave the coach the bus drivers will attend to any needs I have! Happy days!

Tuesday 28 July 2009

Remember I mentioned my toes moving involuntarily? I've found one of the things that makes them move and it's a bit weird! For a while I've been watching them when I go to the toilet as I like to put one leg on my chair for easier access and when I was wiping my pussy after doing a catheter they went mad! I rubbed my pussy again and away they went lol! How nuts is that?

Sunday 26 July 2009

I tried to post on here from my mobile last night but I couldn't figure it out! Anyway, I got invited out with my housemate and his friends so took the offer up to get me out of the house. We arranged to meet his friends outside a shop in the area and one of the boys came and got us, jumped in the car and directed us... to the pathway to a field. Not what I expected at all! The path was rocky and it was dark so I put the flash on my phone and had a friend push me slowly. We got through the field and there were 2 tents pitched and a camp fire. Loads of people! I was wearing a skirt and vest so one of the boys got me a sleeping bag and another boy gave me his jacket.

I was worried about the whole toilet issue but one of my friends helped me - I shuffled to the edge of my seat and had him hold my legs up, bent, and got the catheter in so it drained onto the grass!

After a few hours I was chronically bored, it's hard to navigate a field in a wheelchair especially in the pitch black so I got pushed back to the car and my housemate followed behind with his friends. I dropped 2 off at home and 3 of us came back to mine where we quickly fell asleep.

Thursday 23 July 2009

I had a text off one of my friends on Tuesday about a burlesque night in a nightclub in Cardiff tonight so we decided to go. I transferred into bed and pulled on a pair of snake print wet look leggings, a white and black micro mini skirt and my black tight Armani t shirt then pulled my leg straight up and lay back to slowly wiggle and ease my left foot into a black platform stiletto pump, I had to sit up and force my fingers into the toe bit so I could ease my toes into their straight position before I did the shoe up around the ankle and started on my right foot. My right foot is more curled than the other so it took a lot more effort pushing and pulling my toes inside the tight shoe til they were all perfect. I then transferred into my chair, got myself together and wheeled to the car, opened the car door, put the brakes on and used my yellow banana board to get myself into the car and piece by piece brought the chair in behind me putting the wheels on the back seat and the wheelchair in the passenger seat. I picked my friend up and we drove to Cardiff.

On arrival my friend sorted my chair out for me and we went for a bag of chips then to the club. It was below street level and there was a lift down which the doormen helped us with and we went into the club. In the club there were stalls and free samples, I got my eyebrows threaded! There were topless men in bow-ties with trays of sweets and one kept coming up to me asking if I needed anything and if I did to ask him, then he got me to the front of the crowd for the stage shows and rubbed my back! Delicious!

At about 10 we went to the disabled toilets which were alright but didn't have the rail that pulls down so my friend helped me pull my clothes up and get back in the chair. We decided to leave at around half 11 so I dropped her home and parked in my parking spot, put my chair back together and got in my apartment and back on the sofa!

Sunday 19 July 2009

My housemate wanted a quiet weekend and his friend had work today so I decided to go with him wherever he may end up. We got hold of some friends and I drove us to a house and he gave me a piggy back in and straight up the stairs so I could use the toilet. He carried me back down when I was done and placed me on the sofa where one of the guys who I'd met before asked if I wanted my legs up. I said yes and he picked my legs up and put them on his lap.

After a while we all decided we wanted to get some party supplies so got hold of a guy who was in the middle of a party up a mountain. My housemate, me and 2 of the guys in the house decided to come too. One guy asked if I had feeling in my feet and I said no and he asked how I was driving so I explained the push/pull lever. When we got back I needed the toilet again and the guy who asked about my feet said he would carry me but I only trust my housemate so he took me and put me on the sofa after and I put my legs up again - this time it was the guy who asked about my feet. After a while he needed to get up and the other guy took his seat and I'm sure they were having a very subtle bitch fest over the seat because they both wanted to sit by me and look after my legs!

As time went by I decided I was tired and me and my housemate went home,

Monday 13 July 2009

So we went for the Chinese, it wasn't anything special and I wasn't really satisfied as I wanted the carvery ha ha! Because it was a 2 hour drive there we pulled into a 24 hour Tesco on the way back home so I could use the toilet and pick up some snacks. Bruno is out in the cinema so we went to Cardiff Odeon (because of my disability whoever is with me gets in free!) to watch it and it was hilarious!

On Saturday my housemate sees his friend but he'd had a drink so I agreed to drive to pick his friend and girlfriend up and we all came back here. After a few hours they got a lift to one of the pubs. I don't like crowded places or drunk people so I stayed in and the boys returned Sunday about 2pm.

Before they came back I got up to have a wee and felt really off, I felt faint and got hot and sweaty quickly so I had a drink and quickly went back to bed. I didn't feel right when they arrived so I asked my housemate to bring me some breakfast in bed and got up but couldn't wait to get on the sofa. I'm not sure what was wrong with me!

The boys have discovered new occupants to one of the apartments and went up in their pants and so far have only returned to get some little red peppers from the fridge for some game boys like to play!

Friday 10 July 2009

I was supposed to drive up to see my half sister yesterday, it's that much hard work with her that I have to go to HER cos she can't be bothered to get the train and just makes excuses. For most of last month she kept promising to come down then not answering her phone or making up stories and Monday i was going to drive down and she claimed to have a chest infection and yesterday she just didn't bother texting back. Today I text her as I had a job for her and said if you don't reply I'll give it to someone else and she claimed she text 3 times yesterday but I really don't believe her. She can reply when it comes to work but not when it comes to seeing her own sister!

I'm driving up to Tenby in a bit to pick up my housemate as he drove my old car up and sold it, then his parents want to have a Chinese but to be honest I've been fancying a Toby Carvery so I don't really want Chinese!

Tuesday 7 July 2009

Miserable weather AGAIN. I have put up with this changeable weather for far too long. Before my accident I was looking at places in Australia but to go there you need work skills or money behind you and I don't think they'd let a stripper in lol!

I was so bored last night I got myself together and took a trip to the 24 hour supermarket, picked up a basket and chose some easy to make meals and snacks. The lady at the desk helped me take it to the car and even put my wheelchair in the passenger seat for me! I ate some of it when I got in and had a mild headache, I don't usually get headaches so I did my Peristeen and went to bed.

At about 4am I was still trying to get in a good position and pulled one of my legs up towards my chest when I heard a noise. I knew straight away what it was and had to try and get out of bed making the least mess possible. I stripped the sheet and put it in the washing machine and wheeled into the bathroom and transferred onto my toilet chair and it was everywhere. I washed myself and my chair, it took ages, and filled a bucket with warm water, grabbed the spray bleach and went to the bedroom to clean anything else up. I was boiling after doing all that and still didn't feel quite well so after I sorted the bed out I got back in and had a little cry because I didn't feel well.

I was rudely awoken at 8am by my aunt phoning me. She knows I have trouble sleeping and certainly wouldn't be up at 8am so I wasn't happy. I kept the call short and went back to sleep for a bit.

I finally got up at 2pm, found some half clean towels and took myself for a shower. After that I picked up all the towels that were lying about and put them in the wash after taking the bedsheet from last night out and putting it on the sofa to dry.

Saturday 4 July 2009

Well I haven't had any accidents since the last time I posted so that's good news, must have just drank more than usual or was having an off day!

My housemate came back yesterday and I decided to do the hoovering while he followed me with the camera, it wasn't easy and I was boiling hot from the hard work - I never used to hoover when I could walk, I can't stand it! After that we were debating where to go for some nice food and set off for Cardiff.

We parked in a multi storey car park and I wheeled myself to the pedestrian exit and the floor we'd chosen didn't have a lift so he had to guide me down the ramp to the next level where there was a lift. The lift had flickering lights so I think it was haunted haha! I had him push me to the place we wanted to eat, which was ages away, only to find out it was closed! By this point we were really hungry and would've eaten anything and a Portuguese restaurant nearby looked appetising. There was a high step in but I popped a wheelie and he pushed me in. Inside there was a higher level to be seated so he and one of the waiters had to carry my chair to a table with me still in it and then we ordered our meals.

The starters were reasonably priced and quite large so I was looking forward to my main which was slices of fillet in a port and honey sauce. It wasn't cheap and when it came it was 3 tiny, chewy, pieces of beef and a dish with deep-fried cauliflower, potatoes and very soft carrots and peas. I wasn't impressed but being British we just paid and left as soon as possible. The waiter helped carry me down and another diner offered to help with the step outside.

Today it's a dreary grey day, I thought it was going to be a nice weekend! Oh well!

Saturday 20 June 2009

It's been a few days, things have been a bit busy! On Thursday I went to London to see a friend for a few hours and thankfully the roads were fairly clear. My housemate's sister came down the same day for a school reunion and when I returned home my housemate was visiting relatives so I let myself in and to my delight the living room had been cleared and re-arranged as well as my bedroom! His sister had done it, I love it!

Yesterday we went to a local carvery for a drink and some food, my housemate and his sister had the school reunion in the night and I was in bed when they returned... with 2 old school friends. I didn't like the attitude of the one lad - he was aggressive and rude whereas the other one was too 'in your face' repeating himself and playing footsie with my chair so I went to bed but the music was loud, and being a horrible drunk my housemate wouldn't turn it down so I didn't sleep well. When I got up he had cooked food but he was a prick to me straight away so I got into my chair, got my shoes on and left to visit my grandparents. I'm going to tell him he is not to have people back, he is not to play the music loud and he is not allowed anywhere near me if he's had a drink.

Thursday 18 June 2009

I went over Barry yesterday to catch up with my friends and today I'm off to London so I can't stop! Catch you another time xx

Monday 15 June 2009

You probably know I have trouble sleeping and Saturday night was no exception - I was still in that limbo between being awake and sleeping when the sun started to come up but I dropped off shortly after only to be woken up by my housemate. Now I didn't hear him come in. What I did hear was him talking loudly on his phone in the living room. I always leave all the doors open so he may as well have been by my bed. I shouted loudly, using expletives, to shut my door and the living room door and went back to sleep only to hear the heavy bass from the music he listens too reverberating through the walls. I was fuming. It wasn't even 7am! I called him from my mobile and told him to turn it f*&!ing down and after a while he turned it off altogether.

At about 2pm I got out of bed, wearily shuffled into my chair and had a wash and stuff, got dressed and made my appearance in the living room where he and his friend were hanging about, cooking dinner. I got on the sofa and went online for a bit til dinner was ready, ate that and decided we should go out for day.

The car was so hot inside, I'm always a bit worried in case the leather is too hot for my skin. We all got in, they wanted to get drink from the shop so we went to the shop first and then drove to a reservoir with a lay-by, parked up and all got out to sit by the car. There was an ice-cream van there so I went for one and it cost £3!! Extortionate! When the sun started to go we came back home, getting a KFC on the way.

Tuesday 9 June 2009

Today has been half and half all round, the weather is neither here nor there, nothing has happened, it's just another day. On the weekend I decided to have a party so we picked up my housemates friends and all came back here, it was the one lads birthday and he was already rather drunk and started swimming on the carpet which was funny until he started spitting out the imaginary water. He was sick on the wall and when he was dragged to the bathroom he smashed my toilet up. My housemate had to replace it the next day - I didn't even want to look at the bathroom.

In April last year I took out a contract with Carphone Warehouse for a laptop and dongle and the laptop never came! I finally sorted it out and it arrived recently but I already have a laptop so I just sold it to a guy from Blackwood. He was cute too! Wish I had washed my hair and had my make up on now lol!

Just wondering whether or not to go to the supermarket!

Monday 1 June 2009

It was a lovely day again yesterday. I got myself out of bed and had a shower and washed my hair just before my housemate and his friend returned from the shop with their beers. I got into bed, put some tanning moisturiser on and pulled some knickers on and put a denim skirt over my head and pulled it down to my waist and did it up before putting a dusky pink vest on. I slid into my chair and could hear the boys talking about going to some pond so I volunteered myself to join them and put some make up on ready.

I did a catheter before we left and my housemate lifted me into my car and we all went to pick up another one of the boys and then went on to one of their friends houses where I got lifted out of the driver seat and placed securely in my chair as the others got their stuff ready to leave.

We followed their car and went to a lovely reservoir with a play area. There were ducks and swans with their cute babies bobbing about and the boys played frisbee and ball until the gates were due to be shut. There were no toilets around so we went to KFC and had food and I went to the toilet there. We then went onto the house we were at earlier and I got carried into the back garden. I didn't realise how much sun I'd caught until one of the boys pointed out my strap marks!

Today I persuaded my housemate to come out and enjoy the sun so he made sandwiches and we went to another park which had loads of ducks and a nice walk around the water, I had him push me and we sat in the sun for a bit laughing and chatting. He realised he left the sandwiches in the fridge lol! We came back when the sun was gone from where we were sat and now he's preparing dinner.

Saturday 30 May 2009

Last night I went to Newport as my half sister lives there and we hadn't seen each other since around Christmas. I met her near Newport castle and then we picked up her girlfriend on the way and parked in an open air car park. My sister and her girlfriend sorted my chair out and we journeyed the short distance to the nearest club.

The club we wanted to go to was at the top of a hill so my sister pushed me up. I had already called to enquire about wheelchair access and was advised there was a side entrance. Yeah, a side entrance with a pretty big step! The doormen carried me in (still in my chair) and we paid the door fee and I asked where the disabled toilet was. The manager showed me.... 2 steps up to it! And then the staff were saying 'yeah it's only 2 steps' as if I could just get up and bloody walk to the toilet. I got a refund for us and we left. We tried every place in Newport and NONE had access or a disabled toilet except Wetherspoons so we went there!

Afterwards I met a friend in her friend's van and had a chat, her friend was incredibly stupid and actually argued with me claiming the stars shine because they reflect the sun's light and that my idea that they are actually balls of burning gas was wild. I can't deal with that level of stupidity. Fair enough not knowing, or thinking that that was the truth, but when you actually hear the truth most people realise they just didn't know not remain absolutely convinced! In the end I had to say 'look, this isn't getting anywhere, we're going to have to agree to disagree' because I was becoming very infuriated with him as he was trying to make out I was the dull one!

Today I decided to go and visit my Grandparents at a caravan they have and sat in the sun for a while catching up until I had to leave for bladder reasons! I came back and saw my window was open (it was shut when I left) so I was a bit scared thinking I'd been broken into and it was frustrating knowing how long it would take to even get in to see what had gone on but thankfully my housemate had come home with his friend and they were cooking dinner, which is why the window was open! Now they are both flat out sleeping on the floor lol!

Wednesday 27 May 2009

I didn't realise how late it was getting when I got out of bed about half an hour ago! People have been plaguing me with phone calls since 11am and in the end I actually had to unplug my house phone and put my mobile on silent!

I'm going to the cinema later so I had a shower and lotioned myself up. I'm using a tanning moisturiser as I haven't tried the sunbeds since my accident yet I can't stand how pale I am!

Thursday 21 May 2009

The sun has come out, I'm just sat on the sofa on my laptop reading about range of motion exercises. The toes on my left foot have slowly started to wave by themselves - not as vigorously as the right foot but moving none the less! Maybe one day I'll be able to move them at will!

Monday 18 May 2009

The BBC bosses decided not to take me on after all due to my past and how the press could react , so I'm back home now. Gutted!

Sunday 17 May 2009

So I'll be off to London in a few hours til Thursday! Got my stuff all packed ready, just need to pack my toiletries and laptop! I don;t know what I'm going to do about the washing facilities - they gave me a shower room which is no use whatsoever, what am I expected to do? Take my wheelchair in the shower or throw myself out of my chair knowing full well I can't get back in? Plus there is no rail by the toilet! If it comes to that I'll do my bowel care in a public toilet!

Thursday 14 May 2009

So yesterday was the Wheelchair Dance thing, about 13 people turned up of which they'll pick 6! I don't have any clue how well I did. Most of it was just waiting about. We all had to have an assessment to check how much we can move then see their psychologist to check being on TV wouldn't cause us any psychological damage then meet the choreographers who showed us individually some moves but as they weren't in a chair it wasn't easy to follow. At the end we all did the same as a group which was more confusing! They will pick their contestants and let everyone know by next week.

I'm loving my chair even though at the moment I don;t really feel safe in it!

Tuesday 12 May 2009

I'm in the hotel ready for the morning and I am amused because the guy at reception kept forgetting I was in a wheelchair, tried to remove it twice when I was getting out of the car after he had already seen me in it as I had to get out to get help, then get back in. He told me to park nearer the bushes so the car next to me could get in (I don't have a disabled badge yet so had to park 'regular'), it was comical!

In the room he showed me the shower room as if that would help seeing as there is no bench and I'm not taking my chair in! The toilet is higher than normal toilets but there is no bar to hold onto and being on my own I don't want to chance falling so did my catheter on the bed. I had already started to pee but caught it just in time - only had to rinse my bottoms a little bit.

Breakfast is after half 7 so I think I'll be off to sleep very soon!

Monday 11 May 2009

I had a text off the Wheelchair Clinic earlier about my new wheelchair, that will be with me tomorrow - hope I like it. I really want a much smaller one cos this one drowns me like a size 16 dress would!

It's another stunning day, I am tempted to sit outside and do my laptop stuff but in the light I can't see the screen!

Awaiting the details now from the Wheelchair Dance people for where I'm staying tomorrow and where am I going Wednesday! I've put on fake tan ready hehe!

Thursday 7 May 2009

It's a lovely sunny day for a change!

The Wheelchair Dance people called - they want me to go to London Wednesday 14th for the day with the short list of contestants!

Wednesday 6 May 2009

I want to show you the creepy shadow on my wall!
I think it could be Count Duckula haha!

Friday 1 May 2009

Later that day...

I decided to call the garage about my car at half 4 and they said my car was ready and could I get there by 5:15pm, of course! I called my friend who had just left and he took me up. On the way back someone had pulled out too far onto the roundabout and the car infront stopped suddenly and I thought 'oh my god here I go again' but thankfully I was going very slow and figured out it was push to brake in time! I was on edge the whole way home then though!

On the way to get the car the Wheelchair Dance people called - they will be coming up Tuesday at about 6pm!

Tuesday 28 April 2009

The wheelchair dance people phoned me yesterday, they want to see me again! They'll call tomorrow to arrange another date! That must be good news right?!

It's another grey day out. I had a dream I was pole dancing, I often dream I'm recovering or have recovered. One night I dreamt I could move my legs and in my half asleep daze I was still trying to do it but couldn't!

You'll be pleased to hear I avoided the orange squash... lol!

Sunday 26 April 2009

I met a Devotee Friday night, I'm not going to go into it too much but it was a very pleasant experience seeing as I was absolutely shitting myself with nerves incase he was one of the very small minority of 'bad' Devs. I'm always safe, I had a friend take me and gave him the room number and number of the guy, along with some instructions. Thankfully he was lovely, looked like a regular guy (I didn't know what to expect, so don't have a pop at me lol), friendly, and very polite and caring.

The insurance will be picking my car up Monday, and I've put up my old car for sale (it was a lovely little convertible that I can no longer drive as it is manual).

Just had a wobbly shower sat in my bath and eating a bar of Milka chocolate for breakfast haha x lives of the rich and famous hey! LOL! xx

Friday 24 April 2009

Seeing as summer's coming I thought I better make the effort and get the hairs off my legs, they're blonde anyway so they aren't noticeable, but it makes me feel better!

I rolled up to the side of my bath where I have an Archimedes bath chair that goes up and down, put my legs over the side of the bath and lifted myself over onto the bath chair. I don't like shaving so I have hair removal cream, I put on a pair of rubber gloves and squirted the cream into the one glove while I held myself steady with the other on the side of the bath and covered my right leg in the cream. I then did the left leg and waited 5 minutes before lowering myself into the bath and turning the shower head on to rinse it all off!

After getting out and drying and rubbing lotion in I checked them and they feel very nice and silky now!

Thursday 23 April 2009

I'm really really pissed off at the moment. It started out a great day, picked my car up, I was OK driving it, went for food, went for a stroll by the river. Then, I was driving my friend and I to Asda and on a roundabout I fell sideways, I don't have the strength or muscle to get up easily and in my panic I mounted a roundabout and crashed into a tree.

The levers on my car are pull to accelerate and push to break, now in my eyes common sense would be push forward to speed up and pull back to brake and I'd been unsure all day, and when I was in my panic you can guess which way I was pulling the lever.

The car is fine, we are fine, but where I hit the tree my oil tank is bust, so I can't even use it now til they take it and repair it. Fucking great!

Tuesday 21 April 2009

The weather is fantastic again today, yesterday my friend and I went to our favourite 2 for 1 steak place and sat in the beer garden soaking up the rays. I had the call saying my car will be ready Thursday but now wish I'd chosen a convertible!

Right now I'm sat by my patio doors, one open, with my slide board on my lap using it as a table for my keyboard and mouse. My hair is damp from the shower I had earlier.

Lately, my tiny toes on my right foot have been moving, not at will but moving most of the time, it's fascinating to watch! I'm hoping maybe they'll move at will some time soon...

Later I want to try and get some high heels on, keep my ankles straight and maybe lift myself up, I'm sure if I keep trying I'll stand, right?

Sunday 19 April 2009

Today I set my alarm for 11am, so when it went off I decided not to do my catheter in bed but go to the toilet and use the little Speedicath Compact, as it's actually quicker! The reason I was up so early? I was expecting a visit.... from the BBC!

At 2pm they arrived with their camera to interview me with the potential of particiating in a TV show about Wheelchair Dancing! It will be like Dancing On Ice, a competiton, and they train the successful applicants for 4 weeks before the show commences! Wicked opportunity! They also made me do wheelies in the garden and dance to show my rhythm lol! Lush weather out!

Friday 17 April 2009

I was up at around midday today, bit early lol but I had a few things I needed to do - my housemate has his car back and a trip to Asda was to be the highlight of my week lol! Plus I had to get to the Job Centre and sort out some form to do with the car I'm getting.

My housemate carried me into his car as I didn't want to risk scratching his car with my wheelchair, I love being carried, I used to make my friends carry me before I had the accident, in the end I had to get new friends haha!

Anyway, we parked outside the Job Centre and the kerb was on the driver side and it looked a bit dangerous to carry me out of the passenger side so I decided to get over to the drivers side of the car which was a right palaver! The cars waiting at the traffic lights were looking in bewilderment as I lifted and bent my legs at all angles to get them over the other side of the car and then found the best place to position my hands to lift over. I got as far as the gap between the gear stick and the handbrake then moved some more til i was perfectly seated for my housemate to lift me out like the princess I am! I had to do the same in reverse getting back in and both my shoes came off in transit!

Asda was less tricky as I could just be rescued from the side I was already sat in!

I was fast asleep this morning when the buzzer to my apartment rang, I knew it'd be the people who deliver my catheters and stuff as they called yesterday. I hurried myself to the edge of the bed and was half way into my chair when they impatiently rang the buzzer again which made me panic. I nearly fell out of the chair twice trying to get in and by the time I got to the door they were gone. They KNOW I'm disabled, no one is up at 9am, I was really really pissed off! I got back into bed and called them, assuming it'd be the last number on my phone, started ranting and realised I had accidently called the people who want to run a Wheelchair Dancing show! I was so embarrassed haha!

After a few hours catch-up sleep I got up, had a wash and wriggled my way into a pair of black bootcut jeans and a vest. I always have fluffy socks on to keep my numb little toes warm!

It's raining here, had our summer over the weekend!
